Agenda Item Summary: This presentation provides an update on COVID-19 health and safety measures including implementation of weekly surveillance testing of students, improvements to the dashboard and contact tracing process. Other updates are related to vaccinations offered to students and staff at George Washington, Francis C. Hammond and Minnie Howard on October 15th, student vaccination records, and review of data on employee groups who require weekly testing.
Background: The COVID-19 case data for the City of Alexandria has been increasing, and the city is experiencing a high level of community transmission, largely due to the Delta variant. As ACPS returns to five-days a week of in-person learning, additional public health safety measures must be taken to ensure the health and safety of all staff and students.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends that the School Board review the COVID-19 health and safety updates.
