Agenda Item Summary:
|
Rather than categorizing reading proficiency in broad categories such as Above Level, On Grade Level, or Below Grade Level, the reading standards on the Grades 1–5 Elementary Progress Report will provide students and families with information about student proficiency in specific components of the reading process. Similarly, on the Kindergarten Progress Report, five of the standards have been consolidated into two standards that reflect critical foundational reading skills. These changes will create consistency with other content areas in utilizing the progress report as a tool to communicate student proficiency with grade-level standards. |
