Agenda Item Summary:
The purpose of this Board Brief is to provide you with the guidance of precautions to be taken by physical education (PE) staff that can support mitigation of COVID-19 transmission as we return to in-person instruction for all.
Background:
Due to the increased exhalation, teachers will be required to meet the social distancing guidelines during activity, especially when students are unmasked outdoors. Students will still be required to wear masks indoors, and activities will be limited to low to moderate intensity. Equipment and locker rooms can be used with daily sanitation plans in place to be completed by PE staff at the end of each school day. Lastly, strict handwashing and/or sanitizing before and after physical education instruction must be enforced for all students and staff.
