On January 20, 2021, the AHOF Advisory Committee met to evaluate the list of nominations and by overwhelming consensus selected the following for induction into the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame for 2020:
• Katherine McAdoo, Swimming, T.C. Williams High School, Class of 2000
• Roberta Elliott Speight, Track and Field, T.C. Williams High School, Class of 1984
• Bob Kessler, Basketball, George Washington High School, Class of 1952
• Cedric Matterson, Track and Field, T.C. Williams High School, Class of 1984
• Craig Harris, Basketball, T.C. Williams High School, Class of 1977
• Lynwood Robinson, Football, George Washington High School, Class of 1971
• Mike Hynson, Basketball Coach at TCW and GWHS; Francis C. Hammond HS, Class of 1959
• 1971 T.C. Williams High School Football Team

Background:
|
In February 2014, the Alexandria City School Board formed the Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee in response to numerous requests to memorialize outstanding student athletes, and to inspire current students to strive for excellence. Since that time, there have been 51 inductees into the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame.
Each year, the Alexandria City School Board’s Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee reviews community nominations of deserving high school athletes, teams, coaches and non-athlete contributors for inclusion in the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominees are selected based on their athletic accomplishments in high school, college and beyond, as well as their impact or contribution to the community at large.
