Agenda Item Summary: In May 2022, Alexandria City Public Schools received a financial donation of $20,000 from Mr. Hubert Hoffman, III, Chairman and CEO of the Hoffman Town Center and Hoffman Company, to support Cora Kelly School For Math, Science and Technology and Francis C. Hammond Elementary School. This donation will provide both schools with funding to support various needs as identified by building leadership.

Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology and Francis C. Hammond Middle School are planning to officially allocate this donation for identified needs after the official approval from the ACPS School Board. The Superintendent of Alexandria City Public Schools recommends the School Board approve the donation as it meets all standards of acceptance requirements.
Background: In accordance with ACPS Policy KH and Regulation KH-R, any donation over $2,500 requires school board approval. The donation must meet the established standards of acceptance requirements.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends that the School Board accept the donation to ACPS in the amount of $20,000.
