Agenda Item Summary
:
In accordance with ACPS Policy KH and Regulation KH-R, any donation over $2,500 requires School Board approval. The donation must meet the established standards of acceptance requirements. The Office of Specialized Instruction is planning to officially allocate this donation to support identified needs after the official approval from the ACPS School Board.
Background
:
In April 2023, Alexandria City Public Schools received a financial donation of $5,000 from Alexandria community member, Ms. Danielle Hagerty to support the career and vocational training space for students with significant disabilities who are in our citywide programs at Alexandria City High School. This donation will continue the division’s efforts to simulate office, clerical and technology career stations.
