Board Member Jacinta Greene is submitting an application for nomination for the position of the Virginia School Board Association's (VSBA) Northeast Regional Chair. The nomination must be discussed and approved by a majority of the School Board at a public school board meeting. Once approved, the application is submitted to the VSBA Northeast Regional Nomination Committee who selects the slate of officers. Voting occurs at the regional meeting held each fall at the VSBA Annual Convention.

Background:
|
Each year, a nominating committee will be appointed by each presiding VSBA regional chair to select a slate of nominees for the office of chair and vice chair of their region for the following year. Some of the duties of the position include serving as a member of the VSBA Board of Directors representing all schools in their region, presiding at regional meetings, sending reports on VSBA Board of Directors meetings to regional members, and planning the Regional Spring Networking Forum. The chair also promotes activities and services of VSBA to the regional membership, and networks with regional schools board on issues and concerns.
