This memo updates the School Board about a modified academic calendar adjustment regarding a teacher work day for Samuel Tucker Elementary School.
|
|
Background:
|
All ACPS schools on a traditional academic calendar have been afforded a full day and a half for parent conferences followed by an afternoon for teacher planning, except for Samuel Tucker. Making an adjustment to the modified academic calendar will provide alignment among all schools with the provision of a half teacher work day after the fall parent conferences. On Friday, October 14, parent conferences will continue beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m. Teachers will break for lunch and then have a teacher work day beginning at 12:15 p.m.

The Superintendent recommends that the School Board approve the modified academic calendar adjustment for Samuel Tucker Elementary School for an afternoon teacher work day on October 14.
