This presentation provides an update on COVID-19 health and safety measures including, but not limited to, recent vaccination clinic data for students ages 5-12, weekly screening testing, daily testing of student athletes, and review of data on employee groups who require weekly testing. The presentation also notes that ACPS is actively discussing the length of quarantine period with the health department.

Background:
|
The COVID-19 case data for the City of Alexandria has been increasing, and the city is experiencing a high level of community transmission, largely due to the Delta variant. As ACPS returns to five-days a week of in-person learning, additional public health safety measures must be taken to ensure the health and safety of all staff and students.

Recommendation:
|
The Superintendent recommends that the School Board review the updates to the COVID-19 health and safety measures.
