The Alexandria City School Board is interested in forming two new School Board Advisory Committees for the Spanish and Amharic/Arabic Communities to create opportunities for engagement to better understand their needs, barriers, as well as resources and services needed to engage families. The formation of these new advisory committees would increase communication, trust, and involvement in decision-making.

Background:

Policy BCE—School Board Committees and BCF/BCR-R—Advisory Committees to the School Board give the School Board the authority to form additional School Board Advisory Committees as it deems necessary. Advisory Committees provide opportunities for citizens to advise the Board on major issues pertaining to Alexandria City Public Schools.
