Background: In February 2014, the Alexandria City School Board formed the Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee in response to numerous requests to memorialize outstanding student athletes, and to inspire current students to strive for excellence. Eventually, the AHOF voted to include coaches, teams and administrators or contributors as eligible for recognition. Currently, there are 116 members of the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Each year, the Alexandria City School Board’s Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee reviews community nominations of deserving high school athletes, teams, coaches and non-athlete contributors for inclusion in the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominees are selected based on their athletic accomplishments in high school, college and beyond, as well as their impact or contribution to the community at large.

The nomination form may be found on the Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee webpage located under School Board.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends that the School Board review the nominees for the 2024 ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame.
