Agenda Item Summary: The Facilities and Operations Department (via the Office of Pupil Transportation and Fleet Management) collects daily ridership numbers as it relates to student transport. As of 01/31/22, average ridership data were as follows:

● Primary School Ridership (includes K-8 student transport)
o AM Ridership: 3,281
o PM Ridership: 3,479
● Secondary School Ridership
o AM Ridership: 3,460
o PM Ridership: 3,016
● Average Daily Totals
o AM Ridership: 6,741
o PM Ridership: 6,495

Attachment 1, “Pupil Transportation Ridership Counts” provides additional details on ridership data. As an aside, we partner with DASH to provide free transport for our secondary students. At this time, DASH cannot disaggregate ACPS student ridership from their total ridership data.
Background: The Office of Pupil Transportation and Fleet Management collects and reconciles data as it relates to student ridership on ACPS buses.
Recommendation: Ridership data collection allows for the Office of Pupil Transportation and Fleet Management to monitor trends and make informed decisions as it relates to transportation operations.
