Agenda Item Summary:
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is proud to announce that its second annual Vision, Integrity and Passion (VIP) employee recognition awards program has begun for the 2022-23 school year. The VIP Awards program launched during the 2021-22 school year to honor outstanding employees who work every day to make a difference in our school division. The program recognizes staff throughout ACPS across all levels of employment.
Background:
Every quarter, the VIP Awards will highlight employees in four job categories. The selection categories and nomination months include the following: • Category One (October): Transportation, nutrition services and building engineers. • Category Two (December): Licensed Specialists: psychologists, diagnosticians, nurses, therapists, counselors, social workers, athletic trainers and technology integration specialists. • Category Three (March): Support Staff: Central Office support, building-level support, administrative assistants, ACPS monitors and school security monitors. • Category Four (June): Leadership Staff: Central Office and building level administration. Employees are able to nominate one colleague per award cycle. Nominations may be submitted by any individual employed within our school division by using the VIP Awards nomination form found online. Award winners will be honored at their worksite, receive a special ACPS gift and be personally invited to the following week's School Board Meeting where they will be publicly recognized and announced as VIP Awards winners to the school division.
