Agenda Item Summary:

Regulation GAB-R/IIBEA-R, last revised by the Board in November 2015, required minor, technical revisions, approved by the Superintendent on August 20, 2020, to accurately reflect the school division’s current software and web-based resources. These changes were required prior to distributing the regulation to all new and returning staff. The changes were:

ACPS supports and authorizes the use of a variety of software applications. A list of approved software can be found on the Technology Services tab on Blackboard in the Virtual Teaching and Learning Course in Canvas.
Page 4:
ACPS employees may not use non-ACPS hardware to access the ACPS network. This does not include remote access to web-based resources (i.e., WinOcular student information systems, professional learning applications, email, etc.). |

Background:
|
|
The Code of Virginia § 22.1-253.13:7 and Policy BF require the School Board to maintain and follow up-to-date policies, and that all policies be reviewed at least every five years and revised as needed. Regulations to implement the policies are developed by or through the Superintendent. |

Recommendation
|
|
The Superintendent recommends the School Board review the attached revisions to Regulation GAB-R/IIBEA-R. |
