Agenda Item Summary:
Two opportunities to join in supporting our students by contributing towards scholarships that help send our students in need to college. |
Background:
More than 60 percent of families at T.C. Williams receive federal assistance for free or reduced-price meals. Half of all scholarship recipients are the first generation in their family to attend college. We know that scholarships from SFA often mean the difference between a student being able to afford college or not. Since 1986, thanks to the generosity of the Alexandria community, the SFA has awarded more than $14.5 million in scholarships and sent more than 4,600 of Alexandria's students in need to college — students who might not otherwise have the chance to attend college. |
