ACPS Staff, particularly the Financial Services Department, greatly appreciates the work of the Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) and values the contributions that the Committee made during the FY 2022 Fiscal Year as well as the FY 2023 budget development process. Staff continues to be encouraged and engaged with the Committee as it has accepted and expanded its role and scope of work to include invaluable coordination with City of Alexandria’s Budget and Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee (BFAAC) as well as the ACPS Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE) and the Alexandria Council of PTAs (PTAC).
The annual budget advisory report includes insightful strategies and reflects the work products of the past year and provides questions for consideration to help determine how well the Budget process, together with its timelines and deliverables, meet the needs of the Board. |

Background:
|
|
The Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) advises the Alexandria City School Board on the annual ACPS Combined-Funds Budget and the 10-year Capital Improvement Program Budget. The Committee recommends approaches, strategies, and reflection on the processes while also serving as a source of information for and from interested parents, students, and community organizations. This collaboration helps to foster deeper understanding, promote public participation and ensure transparency in the respective budget processes. |
