Agenda Item Summary:
Alexandria City High School (ACHS) has purchased PPE for its performing arts programs, which is being actively implemented in the curriculum. Additional PPE is being purchased for all other performing arts programs with priority to Francis C. Hammond Middle School, George Washington Middle School, and grades 6-8 at Jefferson Houston PreK-8 IB School and Patrick Henry K-8 School, as well as further needs of ACHS. PPE for elementary performing arts programs will also be purchased and distributed once there is more guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Alexandria Health Department (AHD). The tentative date to receive the PPE is October 15, 2021. |
Background:
The ACPS Fine Arts Program is offering in-person instruction that adheres to CDC and AHD guidelines. As such, staff and students are required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and use PPE for musical instruments, to reduce the spread of COVID 19. |
