Agenda Item Summary:

ACPS began the solicitation process for the Playground Condition Assessments for all schools in the Fall of 2022. Facility Engineering Associates, LLC was awarded the contract in May. Inspections and evaluation of the playgrounds began in late May and ended in mid-June. The conditions assessments will be completed for each school facility in time for incorporation into the planning cycle for the FY 2025-2034 CIP Budget. Currently, drafts of the assessments are under review and following finalization, these reports will be shared with the School Board.
The Playground Condition Assessments (PCA) will provide a benchmark of the current state of ACPS playgrounds and prioritize projects for maintenance, repair and/or replacement. This assessment, along with estimates of cost and project prioritization, will enable ACPS to make informed decisions on projects to pursue in the FY 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). |
