On January 24, 2024, TangerKids Grant Program will present a check for $3,976 to support an application for Empowering Student Voices Through Podcasting, a project-based learning initiative for students in Alexandria City High School (ACHS) International Academy. In accordance with Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) Policy KH and Regulation KH-R, any donation over $2,500 requires School Board approval. The donation must meet the established standards of acceptance requirements. |

Background:

The TangerKids Grant Program invites educators to request funding to improve student and teacher access to the resources needed to succeed in today’s classroom. In 2022, TangerKIds Grant Program awarded 146 grants to schools across the country. Projects funded ranged from modernizing literature and libraries to purchasing adaptive and more inclusive equipment. The average grant award was $1,096. |
